I started my FYP 3 days ago, and frankly speaking, it did not begin well. A lot of laboratory apparatus and rules were unknown to me, and I was a bit 'chicken hand duck feet' on the preparation of my project. But I felt so relieved that, there's numerous friends lending helping hands, guiding me against unwanted trouble and usage of apparatus. Hereby, I want to forward my special appreciation to Soon Hang, Hansel Yong, Kok Wei, Ah Piang, Mok and a lot more that I might not have mentioned here, for your patience and guidance. Thank you very much.
Isolation and characterization of cellulase producing actinomycetes, that goes my final year project title. It sounded simple, but worked otherwise. First day, preparation of modified ISP medium ate my whole day. Minus the lunch time, autoclaving lapse and waiting for lamina flow, it took me 5-6 hours just to plate 30 agar plates. Luckily the day after was better, where I only collected some potential samples and let them played around in the tubes. Helping Hooi Yee with the sieving took my Thursday away, and I was glad helping her as I was actually meant for those procedures before changing topic.
Meal times were haywired. Sometimes a glass of morning milk lasted until 2pm before I took my lunch. Being too tired I took my nap sometimes after coming home until 8 or 9 and dinner it is. I wonder if I will lose some weight after this 3 months.
Whatever it is, may my project be smooth. God of Actinomycetes bless me, please.
